Tracking & Identifying Global Pandemics - Anecdotes from the Trenches

Dr. Cobb is an epidemiologist and former investigator for the CDC. He will discuss tracking diseases and the role that organizations such as the CDC, the NIH and the WHO play in identifying and managing global epidemics. Now retired, Dr. Cobb also served as epidemiologist for the Indian Health Service and worked as a physician in Zuni Pueblo for a number of years. He recently completed the Tour Divide, biking solo along the Continental Divide, following its backbone from Canada to Mexico. Dedicated to environmental causes and the preservation of natural spaces, Dr. Cobb is a former Board member WildEarth Guardians, a nonprofit organization focused on environmental advocacy, and is currently on the Southwest River Council of American Rivers.
